Leading n the In-Between - Queenstown

What happens when intentional teaching becomes less about proving practice and more about protecting the unfolding thinking of tamariki? This reflective and thought-provoking wānanga invites kaiako to reconsider intentional teaching through the lenses of uninterrupted play, pedagogical listening, professional judgement, and relational presence. Together, we will explore how deep learning emerges when tamariki are given time, trust, and space to become immersed in their ideas, theories, relationships, and wonderings.

Drawing on Te Whāriki, current research, and contemporary pedagogical perspectives, this day challenges performative approaches to teaching and documentation, inviting kaiako to reconnect with curiosity, responsiveness, and the courage to pause.

This is an opportunity to reflect on what it means to become a professional marveller - a kaiako who listens deeply, protects thinking, and walks alongside tamariki with intentionality.
