Leading in The In-Between - Christchurch

NZ$250.00

Wayfinding Through Complexity and Change

Leadership in early childhood education is increasingly shaped by complexity, uncertainty, and constant change. Between evolving licensing criteria, professional standards, internal evaluation expectations, workforce pressures, and the emotional labour of leadership itself, many leaders are navigating spaces that feel both demanding and deeply uncertain.

This reflective and thought-provoking wānanga invites leaders to come together to make sense of the changing landscape while remaining grounded in relationships, pedagogy, and professional judgement. Drawing on the principles of Wayfinding Leadership, this day explores what it means to lead with courage, clarity, and humanity when there is no fixed map forward.

Together, we will reflect on the hidden complexity of leadership and the importance of creating cultures where kaiako, tamariki, and communities can flourish. This is an opportunity to pause, think deeply, strengthen leadership practice, and navigate uncertainty together.

Grounded in Te Whāriki and relational leadership, this wānanga invites leaders to reconnect with what anchors them, protect what matters most, and lead in ways that honour both people and pedagogy.
